Skull fractures, socks and silly kids....OH MY!
So, I am up for "Mom of the Year"--I was watching Beckett last Wednesday while he was climbing the stairs. Actually, Zach had him, but I asked him to go upstairs and get my tissues (since I was sooo sick) and that I had Beckett. Well, of course, I turned my back for .01 seconds to get my water off the table...as I was turning around, he started to fall. I wasn't quick enough and he fell straight back onto his head from the second step...right onto the tile floor!!!! I cried more than he did and I felt HORRIBLE!!!!! I see kids with head injuries and falls quite often in the ER, so I wasn't worried that much about him because he didn't have any neurological issues.
...Fastforward to last night--I felt a small mushy spot on the right side of his head. I figured it was a hematoma or CSF fluid that had built up and would just be reabsorbed...but decided to go see our pediatrician this morning just to get her opinion. We ended up getting an xray of his head and Dr. Carter called us back this evening with the news...
He has a minor parietal skull fracture!!! Seriously, I feel awful!! Just glad Beckett doesn't! He acts just fine and we don't think he is going to have any complications from this! Praise God!!!!
We just have to be careful with him over the next few weeks. Thank God for making their little heads so pliable!!
On to better news--Evie put her own socks on this morning for the first time! What a great acheivement! So proud!
And, when she got up this morning, she came out of the room with 2 of Beckett's socks on each hand and said, "good morning, mom"! HILARIOUS the things she does!
We weighed the kids at the doctor's office:
Beckett weighs in at a whopping 20 lbs and Evie was 27 lbs! I love growing, healthy kids!

How scary! I'm so glad that the little man is okay. . .I'm not looking forward to Caroline becoming mobile for the fear that she'll do the same thing! Both of those kiddos get cuter with every picture you post! Keep 'em coming! =)
awww poor baby Beckett! I can't tell you how many times Bella has fallen on her head on the tile. She seems fine but she does talk a lot:)! Happy he is ok!
Oh my goodness... How scary! I'm glad he's ok!!! Poor baby and Poor Mommy!!!
Aubrey is very "fall-prone." she has cut her top lip on her toddler bed while jumping I assume, while I was working. She fell at Neal's sister's house and cut her bottom lip pretty badly on the bottom of their dresser. She fell at Mimi's Cafe while we were out to lunch one day, and got a huge goose-egg on her forehead. And now that has all healed, just yesterday she stumbled while dancing around and hit her forehead again on her tv stand in her room. She has a straight red line across her forehead! The first few times she fell, I cried! Now I'm getting used to it, sadly enough. I always feel so guilty when she gets hurt! But we can't protect them from everything, at all times! I'm glad Beckett is ok. Both your children are adorable, cuter with every post! Evie seems very advanced in many ways! Wow, what a smart girl! I enjoy reading your blog! Hope you have a great thanksgiving and happy holidays to you and the family!
