I'm 6 months old!!!!!
Has it really been 6 months since this precious little girl took her first breath? As I rocked her to sleep the other night, I started crying just thinking about how happy she makes me and how she is the reason I can call myself a mother. I am in awe of how much love I can have for one little human being. I was looking over pictures of her BIRTHday and it feels like so long ago that she was making her debut...yet it feels like I have known her forever---Zach and I talk about our life before a baby and wonder what we did with ourselves!
I want her to stay small, to just lie there in wonder of her world, never growing, always needing me and wanting me to hold her...but other parts of me want her to pull up, eat a hot dog, take those first steps, be independent---but that is a fleeting moment!
She has learned to chant like an indian when you pop your hand over her mouth! She still says.... "mamamamama"...still has no idea what that means, but I love it! I tell Zach, "Dadadaa" is coming soon! She is officially out of 3-6 month clothes. I also think she is going through another growth spurt! She has been waking every 3 hours or so in the night to nurse.
Nursing gets hard sometimes and I even think about quitting on hard days, but I know its best and am still in the fight, even though she does get a supplemental formula bottle every now and then. She loves to eat! So far, she has had pears, applesauce (her FAVE!), carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken (not a big hit!), green beans and an occasional lick of ice cream!
