Last Thursday, I turned TWENTY NINE…that will be my last official birthday! Saying out loud that I will be 30 next year makes me stop in my tracks. THIRTY?!
We started off our celebration at Mexico Lindo on Wednesday for our annual Danielle and Kristy birthday “dinner”. We usually eat out at the Melting Pot, but since its closed,we had to choose a new place…but we love MEXICAN! We often get asked if we are sisters…blonde hair, big smile, etc. But this year, our waitress asked if we were TWINS?!
Mia helped the kids plan a SURPRISE cake party for me on Thursday after moms group and lunch at Chilis. They picked out a Bee cake that was super yummy and we all had to wear birthday hats in true party fashion!
Meri Ann and Jeremy got me a gorgeous bracelet and monogrammed sunglasses band! I LOVE THEM!
Beckett eating the icing off of his piece of cake…typical messy boy!
Later that evening, Zach and I enjoyed at fn date at Stonewood Grill (courtesy of the Cornerstone baseball team!). I had some tasty steak, baked potato, veggies and tomatoes and mozzarella. We finished with YUMMY chocolate bread pudding and ice cream!! Then we ventured over to the theater to watch Inception…great movie, but it worked my mind out!
Friday afternoon we hit the road for a 16-hour trip to Ft. Worth, Texas for Drew and Beth’s wedding. Zach was a groomsman and Evie made her debut as a flower girl. She was AWESOME and looked beautiful!!
Evie and Zach at our first rest stop just outside of Tallahassee.
Had to take a short detour from a Texas highway during a traffic jam…
but someone had to go potty, so it turned out to be a convenient little trip!
After sleeping in a motel in Munroe, Louisiana for 6 hours, we were on the road again for the last 6 hours of our journey. Evie was so excited to sleep and eat in a hotel!!!!
The 3 (or 4) of us outside the rehearsal dinner-DELICIOUS Mexican food awaited us!!!
Evie in the car on the way to the wedding…trying not to mess up her hair and having trouble opening her eyes in the hot Texas sun! Yes, HOT---it was 103 degrees on this day! (without the heat index)
Evie with Beth, the bride!
sneaking some m&ms before the wedding started!
Sweet baby Claire and I enjoying a good laugh!!
Evie and Jesse (Emily’s little cousin) dancing a slow song during the father/daughter dance!
Emily and VERY tired CJ!
We had such a great time, just the 3 of us. As we were driving through some state between here and Texas, Zach and I were talking about how easy it would be to have just one child…then he quickly reminded me that we were a little late on that one! It IS nice to just be with one kid from time to time and really pour your heart and love into them…
and one day, before we know it, it will be our turn…to give her away. (we’ll just put that off as long as possible….Zach)

1. Turning 30 is not so bad! I did it ahem, 2 years ago and it was by far one of my favorite birthdays. Dillan was six weeks old and nothing was going to rain on my parade (not even turning 30)!!!
2. You look GORGEOUS!!!
3. Evie made a sweet and precious flower girl.
