It has been a long week here at Casa de Sutton! Brief history of our current situation:

Evie and Beckett both took a visit to the pediatric after hours clinic in Orlando the weekend of his birthday...I think the nurses and doctors there think we don't really have a pediatrician :) they were both started on antibiotics and finished their 10-day course. Evie had double ear infections.

Both got better...until Saturday night. Evie didn't get her nap out and woke up crying and was clingy, irritable and had a fever. I thought she was just worn out from the long week and weekend we had with GIC at the church. But, Sunday was worse and she cried for almost and hour straight. I ended up at the peds after hours clinic at UF and she ended up on Omicef (another antibiotic) for double ear infections. Sometimes the infection gets cleared up, but the fluid doesn't drain, so it just sets the kid up for another infection on top of the first one!

Well, to make a long story short...and you know I can make a long story even longer :) wink wink! (that is genetic, by the way!)---she hasn't slept through the night (meaning she has been up every 30 mins-2 hours since Sunday) and today saw Dr. Carter in the office...her left eardrum is perforated and we stopped the Omnicef. She got 2 shots of Rocephin (another antibiotic) one of which I had to give her because there were no other nurses available at the time!!!!

We are starting her on Vantin...(ANOTHER ANTIBIOTIC) tomorrow afternoon. Thank God my mom came up Monday afternoon and took Beckett back home with her! I don't know how single moms do it...seriously!!!

So, pray that the kids will get over these ear infections and that this round of antibiotics will work! I feel horrible for her when she wimpers in my arms while I rock her. But, we have had sweet moments cuddling on the couch or in bed watching cartoons and movies, geting ice cream and taking baths together...just us, just girls :)

okay...its 1:52 am and I just got home from working in the ER...going to bed now...I promise!
