Oh what a year this is turning out to be!!!!!
I am writing from the Florida Hospital Celebration ER. It's Saturday morning and I have been here since around midnight. I started having right upper quadrant abdominal pain yesterday around 4. I drove to Orlando for Meri-Ann's farewell dinner at the Melting Pot (which was very delicious, by the way!)...and continued to have pain. I went to a walk-in clinic and the doctor recommended that I go the ER for a workup.
My mom drove me and we got right in (around midnight)...got some blood drawn and some pain meds, a CT scan and ultrasound. The first doctor I saw thought it was for sure my gallbladder...but the ultrasound and my labs were NORMAL--praise God, but that wasn't the answer I thought we were going to get.
I got a CT scan around 7:00 this morning and saw a third ER doctor. Zach drove up with the kids and got here a little bit ago. My mom, who is certainly exhausted as she spent the entire night with me in the ER, took the kids back to her house. The CT scan looked pretty normal--EXCEPT for my large spleen. He isn't sure why my spleen is enlarged and isn't comfortable sending me home with a generic diagnosis of abdomial pain. So, we are now waiting for the admission team to come see me and write some orders. Looks like we are spending the weekend in Orlando, but this hospital is really awesome and so far all of the doctors and nurses have been super!
Please pray that God will continue to provide me with excellent doctors and nurses and they will have the knowledge to orders the correct tests that will provide answers. God has prepared us for situations like this and we know he is our healer and protector. Also pray that I will not be in as much pain as I have been in. I cannot lie flat without being in horrible pain.
You can always call us, prayers are more than welcome...will update the blog as we know things!
God is so good!
