A lot has been happening over the past month or so, so I am doing one big update here!
Zach and I got a "real" babysitter (Sarah, the daughter of some of our friends from our family group) last week and headed out to dinner with our great friends David and Danielle Smith. We went to Chili's (thanks to Uncle Tony and Aunt Penny for the giftcard!!!) and then went to a wine bar for an hour or so to listen to live music and chill. It was so fun and nice to be out on our own for a change!A lot has been happening over the past month or so, so I am doing one big update here!

We bought this piano/coloring station thing at a garage sale for $10 and it is one of Evie's favorite things!!! She was teaching Mickey how to play here! And she has also become quite the little mommy...she loves baby dolls (much like me when I was little) and she feeds them, burps them and walks down the hallway singing them to sleep!!! Soooo sweet!
Beckett is starting to find new positions---other than lying on his back!!! He has rolled over from back to front without much help and is still working on mastering that skill. He has the most beautiful blue eyes and I hope they stay---Evie's are turning very hazel now but were once blue. Also, Beckett cut his first tooth yesterday--July 31st!!! Its the one on the bottom right...I think the same one Evie cut first, however, he is 2 months behind is big sister on cutting teeth!
Evie loves to put this bucket on her head. She is hilarious!! There is a smaller one that is a cat that she puts on Beckett's head. She is such a great big sister!
So...Evie, did you color on the couch?? "No" she says without even making eye contact with me!!! We have entered a whole new stage of toddlerhood!!!! Last week while Mia went upstairs with Beckett for like 5 seconds, she colored the white coffee table and silver lamp base (both of which the crayon came off of). She also colored a square on the entertainment center....that and the couch both happened under daddy's supervision. Oh well, atleast she used red to match the pillow, right?!
Another milestone has occured-Evie pee peed on the potty!!!!!!!! Never thought I would be so excited. She did it by total accident (I think). I was using the bathroom and she sat down on her potty, like she often does to copy me and then, she peed! Who knows, we may be potty training soon!
Oh yeah, and she is doing a little reverting back to her baby days. Last week, she came up to me and said, "mommy, baba (that's bottle) me". I said, "oh you need a bottle, too?" and she said yes, so I gave her one. She sat with Zach and drank it down...but the next few times she asked, I gave her one and she handed it back. Its a short-lived phase! But she definitely still loves her binky and started calling it her nuk-nuk suddenly.
Evie's vocabulary is expanding on a daily basis...and she constantly does things that make me smile and apprecitate every single moment of being a mommy! She loves to watch the trash truck when it comes every Monday and even helped me set the table the other night. She climbs the big chairs at the table and even ate lunch at the big table a few times last week. She can repeat the alphabet with crystal clear diction and even says "Mummy" and "Dadddy" in a British accent-----that is the funniest thing I have ever seen! Watch out Holloywood!
