ONE-YEAR CHECK-UP
Evie saw Dr. Carter again this week for her 1-year checkup. She weighed in at 21.5 pounds and is 29.5 inches long. She is in the 50-75th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference. I think her head was 42 cm?!?
Daddy couldn't come with us because he was in his intership at Shands Rehab. So, we headed out in the rain for some doctor fun! Evie enjoyed going through her diaper bag and pulling out all of the fun stuff. Here she is holding her cell phone from her new playhouse.
Doesn't she look all grown up? Her hair is getting longer...finally! It looks kind of strawberry blonde, but when she is next to a red-head, it looks brown! Go figure! She doesn't mind going to the doctor, but isn't a fan up being examined. She is right on track for her age...she still only says "mama", dada" and "duck" on command...but is working on lots of words we can't quite figure out yet. She babbles all day long!
Here she is waiting for her shots after being examined by Dr. Carter! She loves climbing up into chairs, especially ones that are her size. She was all ready for her shots, dressed without pants! I held her for the shots (she got 3) and she only cried for about 5 seconds. When we were at the checkout, she was smiling at the guy behind the counter. We went to the Haile Village Market after her appointment to get a treat. She shared mommy's cuban sandwich and got her own box of Goldfish. She was such a brave girl! It's so different when you have to let your own baby get shots. I give them everyday, but I almost cried with her!
